1st Symposium in Klagenfurt with open topics for taking stock.

For the first time, participants from Germany and Switzerland (approx. 30 participants) were present.

The SubARGE (Sub-Working Group) was established by Dr. Heribert Rainer, Dr. Richard Permann, and Prof. Dr. Rudolf Fries.
Dr. Richard Permann was appointed as the next head of the SubARGE.

1990

2nd Symposium in Linz, Topic: “Impression taking in defect prosthetics and epithetics”.

Approximately 50 participants.
Decision made regarding the holding of further symposia in Linz and the publication of conference proceedings. Dr. Joachim Obwegesser was appointed as the next head of the SubARGE.

1991

3rd Symposium in Linz, Topic: Proven and new materials in orofacial prosthetics”

Resolution to hold the symposium annually and to establish a separate association. The reason is the increasing number of foreign members who cannot be members of a sub-group anchored within the Austrian Society for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine (ÖGZMK).

1992

Founding of the association “Society for Surgical Prosthetics and Epithetics”

by the proponent committee Dr. Joachim Obwegeser, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Bernd Gattinger, ZT Albert Kurz, ZT Christian Kreuzer and ZT Franz Mayrhauser. Statutes were revised by Christian Kreuzer.

4th International Symposium in Linz, Topic: “Retention options in orofacial prosthetics”.

First Annual General Meeting of the newly founded society. All former members agree to the conversion of their membership and accept the statutes. First-time participation of colleagues from France.

1993

5th International Symposium in Linz, Topic: “Interdisciplinary cooperation in the care of people with jaw and facial injuries”.

For the first time, participants from Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden and Hungary.

1994

6th International Symposium in Linz Topic: “New and proven methods in surgical prosthetics and epithetics”

Participation of the President and Honorary Secretary of the IMPT and new colleagues from Albania, India and the USA.

Development of further training recommendations for those working with epitheses

Led by Prof. Dr. Gottfried Reitemeier (University Hospital Dresden), participation of dental technician Christian Kreuzer at the 10th Congress of the American Anaplastology Association (AAA) in Indianapolis

7th International Symposium in Linz, Topic: “Possibilities and Limits in Surgical Prosthetics and Epithetics”.

Dental technician Christian Kreuzer proposes that the 10th International Symposium be held jointly with the AAA. A first draft of the continuing education recommendations will be presented.

1996

8th International Symposium in Linz, Topic: “Therapy optimization in surgical prosthetics and epithetics with special consideration of psychology and psychosomatics”.

Continuing education recommendations for the “IASPE-Certified Epithetist” were adopted. A decision was made to hold the 10th International Symposium jointly with the AAA. Prof. Dr. Gottfried Reitemeier was re-elected as President.
